Pomona Pants: A Cloth Diapered Bum’s Best Friend

Choosing to cloth diaper your babe means that they generally sport cute fluffy bottoms which can make it difficult to find pants that fit their eco-friendly and adorable bums!

I find that I often need to put my baby in a larger size for his rump, making the pant legs too long, necessitating that I roll them up, into bulky cuffs. This happens particularly with jeans which is not as forgiving a material.

Now, I could just avoid jeans altogether but that doesn’t fly with this jean loving urban mama. In our household, jeans are worn almost all the time, they are our staple wardrobe piece. It’s only fitting that our baby gets to rock the look with us. What’s a girl to do?

Enter: Project Pomona

I came across Project Pomona when searching for products for the launch of changeMatt and immediately contacted Meghan, the creator with the hopes that she would consider letting me carry them in my store (she agreed!). I also realized that my personal baby jean dilemma was now over. I’d found the holy grail of pants for cloth diapered bums and they were also chic. Instant love. When my first order arrived, these jeans did not disappoint! Here’s why:

1. Lighweight, SOFT, dark jean material.  It’s so flexible and gentle that it won’t restrict baby’s movements or hurt their tender skin.

2.) Low rise in the front to allow for baby belly!

3). The laundry tag is on one of the front panels and won’t be bothering baby’s behind!

4). The secret to these pants? The 3 snaps on each hip allow you to customize the fit for your baby’s waist/hips. The snaps are similar to how you may adjust your cloth diapers. Easy. Perfect for skinny babies, chunkier babies, and diapers of all kinds.

The snaps are attractive and will not dig into your child’s skin like other adjustable pants where the elastics are hidden in the pants against their body.

5). Adjustable accent cuff which for 3 different lengths a)Fully exposed cuff b) Cuff half exposed c) Accent cuff unrolled all the way.

These pants have such a generous fit that your baby will not grown out of them in weeks. You are investing in a pair of pants that will last for several months and multiple children.

Matt’s worn his Pomona’s while sporting each type of diaper including prefolds, hemp fitteds, and pockets stuff with microfibre or hemp inserts.

There are also shorts available with all the same amazing features, called Orchard Pockets.

We’re lucky!

Meghan has made an exclusive Transportation print only available through changeMatt in the Pomona Pants and Orchard Pockets.
We’ve only got a few pairs in stock right now but more are on their way soon!

In the meantime, how about a giveaway ?!

Meghan from Project Pomona has generously offered a pair of Pomona Pants and I am giving away an AMP Duo Print Pocket in the new “SPOT” print, kindly provided by Annie from AMP! White Diaper with Black Spots
This giveaway is open to Canada and U.S. residents! Good luck!
